Chapter twenty two

As Marco settled down in his study to make the call, he couldn't help but feel excited to see Nkem's face again. It had been a couple of days since they last spoke, and he missed her. As the screen came to life, he was met with the sight of his beautiful girlfriend, hunched over her books, studying for her upcoming finals.

"Hey there," Marco said, a smile spreading across his face.

"Hey, Marco," Nkem replied, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "How are you?"

"I'm good. I miss you though," he said, his tone turning serious.

Nkem looked up from her books, her eyes meeting his. "I miss you too, but I'm almost done with my finals."

"Good, because I have a surprise for you," Marco said, his eyes lighting up mischievously.

Nkem raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued. "What kind of surprise?"

"Well, I was thinking we could go on a little lunch date tomorrow to relax after your exams," Marco said, his grin growing wider.

Nkem's eyes widened in surprise. "Really? That's so sweet of you, Marco. Thank you!"

Marco's smile softened as he looked at Nkem. "Anything for you, my love. Just let me know when and where."

As they were planning the details of their lunch date, Marco's younger sister Bianca walked in, interrupting their conversation.

"Marco! Who are you talking to?" Bianca exclaimed, peering over his shoulder.

Marco turned his head to look at his sister. "Hey, Bianca. I'm talking to my girlfriend, Nkem."

Bianca's eyes widened in surprise. "You have a girlfriend? Why didn't you tell me?"

Marco chuckled. "I didn't think it was that big of a deal, Bianca. Plus, we haven't been dating for that long."

Nkem smiled and waved at Bianca, who waved back enthusiastically. "Hi, Bianca! It's nice to meet you."

Bianca beamed. "Nice to meet you too, Nkem! I hope you're taking good care of my big brother."

Nkem laughed. "Of course I am. He's taking good care of me too."

As the conversation continued, Marco couldn't help but feel grateful for having Nkem in his life. He was excited for her to meet his family, including his other siblings, who were due to arrive from boarding school in France soon. It would be a great opportunity for her to see a different side of him, and for him to see how she fit into his family dynamic.
