I watched as Chase put on his jacket ; " staring is rude " he suddenly said and i looked away

" i was ...looking at the clock " i mocked him

" why ? Waiting for me to leave ?" He teased and i grinned ; " you have no idea " i joked with him and he laughed

" it ... won't be long " he said as he stepped closer

" it's a birthday party , and it's Celine's , i'd be surprised if you returned one hour before sunrise " i said

" yeah well , you have Bobby , and miles, and the guards , to protect you of course " he stated , i looked at him narrowing my eyebrows

" protect ? Or make sure I don't escape again ?"
I asked , he laughed as he looked down " both"

When everyone left , i headed to the library and miles accompanied me , i sat and read Romeo and Juliet again

Getting tired of reading , i went over to Bobby who was having his siesta in one of the living halls ; " hey" i said

" hello " he replied ; " i was wondering ... if you could tell me about this family , their past and history , things interesting to know "

My curiosity will be the death of me someday

He looked at me silently before sighing; " alright sit down " he said and i did

"So Lady Lillian and her late husband , the former don of the Romano Alexander Romano , had an arrangement marriage , they were promised to each other when they were just teenagers " he told me

Poor woman , she must've hated her life

" they got married when they were twenty years old , six years later they gave birth to Chase , year later to Valerie "

" Were they close ? As a family i mean " i asked

" Lady Lillian and don Alexander didn't love each other when they first met , but the love and respect grew with the years , and the children were very close to their father " he stated

" how did he die ?"

"blood cancer , three years ago " he said and his voice broke

He must've been a good man

" they all looked after him till his last breath , after his death , Chase was never the same " he spoke and i looked at him surprised

Was chase different from what he is now ?

Suddenly, and out of nowhere, we heard Shooting sound , both Bobby and i screamed and hid behind the couch and miles ran to me and i held him between my arms

The windows glasses shattered, the men who were inside the house with us pulled out their guns too and started to shoot them as well

But they were too many of them , bullets were coming from every corner

Our men started to fall dead on the ground

" go hide in your room !" Bobby said and i shake my head ; " I'm not leaving you !"

" it's okay!! Go and take miles, now ! He shouted and i panicked

With a tear in my eye i got up and ran towards the bedroom as fast as i can with Miles between my hands

The gunshots didn't stop , as i was running i spotted more of our men getting shot and other men breaking in

When i reached the room , i locked the door , i decided to hide inside the big closet with miles by my side

The bathroom would've been too obvious , it would be the first place they search

As i was shivering in my place inside the closet , I heard someone entering the room , i put a hand on my mouth , stopping my fast breathing

I heard him opening the bathroom's door

As I expected of course

After few minutes, i sensed him leaving , i closed my eyes feeling a bit relief , but something went wrong

Miles moved and bumped into the closet's door , the next thing i knew was the door being opened and the man looking at me with an evil smile

" found ya " he said and i tried to run but he grabbed me from my waist and pushed me on the ground

I looked up and he was already pointing a gun at my face ; " don't even think about it pretty girl "

I looked at him with terror , my entire body was shivering, fear ran all over me

Later another man came in , I suppose that was the leader since he was wearing fancy clothes ; " this one's not a Romano boss " the man who found me said

I knew it

" no , but i think she's valuable since she was here , she's not a maid that's for sure , and she's pretty , take her " he told him and the other one grabbed me from my arm roughly and dragged me with him , i tried breaking away from his grip but he only tightened it on me

Why does this always happen to me ?

" what's your name beautiful?" He asked and I didn't answer ; " let me go !" I shouted in his face and he smirked

" nice to meet you too " he said

As i was being dragged to the front door , i saw the guards bodies on the ground , blood spilled everywhere , the place was a mess

My eyes finally spotted Bobby who was also laying on the ground ; " Bobby!!" I screamed trying to get to him , only to be pulled back by the man

Chase ... where are you..
