Recap:

"Move or else I'll punch you, hard." He threatens, making a fist with his hands.

He can always resolve around punching.

"Fine." I get up and sit at the seat across the table.

You see, Max takes football, which makes his punches really hurt. He formed a bruised on my arm from just pushing me. Imagine what a punch can do.

"Happy?" I sarcastically asked, taking a seat on the chair.

"Very." He replied with a smirk, taking a seat in my old spot.

"Ok boys, eat up." Mom said.

Peter and her took a seat, and we all dig in.

For being sick, this day wasn't that bad.

CHAPTER 15 | BIRTHDAYS CAN BE GREAT AFTER ALL

Brent's POV

April 16, 2019...

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Shut up!" I growl at my alarm.

I don't want to get up...

I don't want to go to school...

I hate the mouth of April...

And...

I hate this day...

Wanna know why?

Well today, five years ago, my dad died. He died on my birthday. If I can't spend my birthday with him, then I don't want to have a birthday at all today.

I get up; knowing I'll have to eventually.

I freshen up and go downstairs to see my mom holding a gift, smiling her eyes out.

I mentally groan.

"Mom, I don't want a gift." I coldly spit out.

Peter gives me a look from behind her. The
look that says: watch what you say.

I sign, accepting the gift from my mother.

I open it to witness my fathers watch out in front me.

"Mom, what is this." I don't know if I'm mad or sad.

My emotions are mixed.

"It's your father's watch." She answered. With a smile still on her face.

I looked up at her with a single tear running down my face.

Her face softens.

"Mom-"

"Honey, he would have wanted you to have it." She explains.

A simple smile came across my face.

I look up at her, "thanks mom."

I attacked her with a hug. I know I don't like my birthdays, but having this is like having him here in real life.

Peter interrupted our moment, "Now get ready for school."
