"Nasabi ko lang naman yun because I don't want to waste any more time, Sash. I want to be with you so bad. You have no idea," Kai's eyes glistened with tears.

"Alam ko. Alam ko because I feel the same way with you. Please, just trust me? Babalikan kita sa SoCal. I promise. That should tell you a lot because I don't make promises unless alam kong I'm going to be able to fulfill it," Sasha assured her.

"Then can I have the rest of our time here na tayo lang? I'm sure the two would understand. I mean—kung okay lang sayo—knowing na I'm, well, I'm going to need to be transferred and all," Kai requested. Then she swallowed.

"Of course. And you never have to worry, okay? I know you're going to need my help, so 'wag kang mag-alala, I don't mind helping you at all," Sasha reassured her.

After their talk, Sasha went to the lobby to get Kenny and Zoe.

"She's asking if she can spend time with me bago kayo umalis bukas," she let them know.

The couple looked at each other.

"You convinced her to come with us?" Zoe clarified.

Sasha nodded. "I told her I'll come back to her."

Kenny stared her right in the eyes. "When?"

Sasha stared back at her. "Soon."

Kenny shook her head. "How soon is 'soon'?"

Sasha took a deep breath. "Ken, I don't know. Okay? May kelangan pakong ayusin dito, but I promise you both that I'll be coming for her as soon as I can."

Zoe shook her head this time. "You need to set your priorities straight, Sash. Naghihintay si Kai sayo, not to mention, NAG-HINTAY na sya sayo. You can't keep her waiting and not give us a definitive answer. Mamaya pinapaasa mo lang yung kaibigan namin eh. You understand why we're like this, right?"

Sasha nodded. "I know."

Kenny put her one hand on her hip. "Ang vague kasi ng answer mo, Sash eh. You can't even tell us kung it's going to take you a week or two or a month or more. Pano kung taon na naman yang 'soon' mo? Kami ang nag-gi-grill sayo because Kai is just too nice to do so. Masyado syang mabait kaya she puts up with other people's crap. Bilang mga kaibigan, o technically mga kapatid na nga, we feel the need to be protective of her."

Sasha inhaled and exhaled quickly. "We'll keep in touch. I'm going to make sure we have contact everyday, and I will update you both. It won't be like the last time."

Zoe couldn't hide the disappointed look on her face. Then she motioned for all of them to go back to their hotel room where Kai was waiting.

When they opened the door, the couple immediately looked towards their friend. "You okay?" They asked in unison.

"I'm okay," Kai nodded. "Did she tell you na I want us to spend some alone time before we leave? Para makapag-alone time din kayong dalawa."

The couple looked unsure. "Can she handle it?" Zoe had to make sure.

Kai frowned. "Handle what? Me? Of course she can, Zo. I spent the night at her place, diba? You don't have to worry about anything. Sash is catching up pretty fast sa care na kelangang gawin sakin. She's gentle and she knows how to handle me with care. Kaya 'wag na kayo parehong mag-alala."

Kenny looked towards Sasha who stood quietly next to Kai. "Call us. Let us know when you guys are home," she told her.

Sasha nodded. "We will. We'll update you both kung nasan na kami."

Zoe hesitated still. "Mag-ingat kayo pareho. Kai, don't forget to call us from time to time. We want to know if you're in one piece kahit papano."

Kai nodded. "I will."
