Amaya's P.O.V.

I gave Jay a quick kiss, and watched as he walked back to his house.

Unfortunately Jay got a 23 on both parts.

What we were hoping for is a above a 23.

On the bright side, it would've increased is overall score.

I think I'm gonna give Jay a break from studying tomorrow.

I'm sure his mind has gone to mush.

He did a really good job though.

I'm so proud of him.

Jay's P.O.V.

I said hi to my parents, and met my younger brother at the dinner table.

"Hi Ji-beom" I said.

He waved.

He is 4 years younger than me.

We're close, but nowhere near as close as Amaya and Amira.

I went into the fridge and grabbed some food.

"Did you not eat at Amaya's?" He asked.

"No, we were really busy."

"Busy doing what? Kissing?" He joked.

My parents turned around to face us.

I could feel my cheeks burning up

"No, we studied for like 10 hours." I said rolling my eyes.

"And for your information, we didn't get to kiss because I didn't get above a 23 in my math and science practice test."

"Gross." He said.

My mom laughed.

"Looks like Amaya is training you well." My mom said.

"Yeah, you could have a 25 in no time." My dad said.

"What are your plans for track this year?" My dad asked.

"I'm definitely running this year, but I'm prioritizing the 200 and the 400." I said.

"You need to start training so you can get back into shape. That injury last year really worked a number on you."

Last track season, I broke my foot during the sectionals meet.

I didn't get to compete at state, and I haven't ran since.

"I'll start after the ACT."

"Jay I think you should start right now."

"Dad, I don't have time to start training now." I said interrupting him.

"Well why not?" He asked.
