Cody's POV

"You bastard!" Samuel shouted as he rushed towards me furiously.

I instantly pulled back and stood up. "Sir, I..." He didn't let me finish as he wanted to punch me, but Emily stepped between us.

"Dad, please. You misunderstood." Emily tried to explain in panic.

"Yes, sir. You misunderstood. We weren't doing anything." I said in fear.

"I am not blind. What were you doing on my daughter then?!" He snapped, shooting daggers at me.

"Samuel, please." My father said as he rushed towards us and grabbed Samuel's arm, giving me a death glare.

"Dad, please. It is a misunderstanding." I pleaded, giving my father a begging look.

"Shut up, Cody. I will talk to you later." My father stated sternly.

"Dad!" Emily exclaimed as she breathed deeply and started explaining.

Samuel heaved a sigh, placing his hands on his hips as Emily finished explaining. From our fathers' expressions, it seemed Emily managed to convince them of our innocence slightly.

Samuel travelled his gaze from Emily to me and warned me firmly, pointing his finger at me. "If I see this kind of scene again, be scared of my wrath. Another fault, and I will act differently." Then he stormed out.

My father shook her head in disapproval and went after Samuel.

"Cody, I am sor..." She mumbled as she turned around, facing me and wanted to place her hand on my arm.

"Don't! Don't come near me!" I exclaimed, frustrated as I raised my hand up, stopping her. "You give me only trouble. So don't come near me, please." I commented angrily and sat down on the couch, breathing deeply.

"I didn't ask you to collapse on me." She snapped, annoyed and ruffled her hair angrily.

"Is it my fault now?!" I snapped as I stood up and approached her, looking into her eyes angrily. "But you are right. I shouldn't help you. I should let you fall down. Maybe you could hit your head. Yeah, I shouldn't care. If you wear this much high heels, then it is your problem if you fall down or not." I snapped.

"Asshole!" She snapped, frustrated.

"Bitch!" I exclaimed angrily, looking into her eyes.

"Ugh! I hate you, Cody Sullivan!" She barked, clenching her fist.

"It is mutual, dear." I commented bitterly.

"Ugh!" She gritted her teeth, pushing me back and grabbed her bag angrily. Then she stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

I cursed under my breath and kicked the seat angrily.

Emily's POV

After finishing my paperwork in the company, I grabbed my bag and left. When I walked out of the building, I got surprised as I saw Cody, leaning against his car while holding a bouquet of pink roses. As he saw me, he straightened, giving me his signature smile and approached me. I walked towards him.

"I am sorry for yesterday." He stated, giving me an apologetic look as he extended the bouquet towards me.

I smiled as I took the bouquet and smelt the roses, closing my eyes.

"Thank you. They are so beautiful." I said, smiling. He gave me his mesmerizing smile as he placed his hand into his pocket. "By the way, you are so brave to come here after yesterday. Aren't you afraid of my father?" I teased him and gave him a mischievous grin.

"I should admit that I checked if he was here or not. He has a meeting with dad in our company." He confessed, rubbing the back of his neck, embarrassed. "If he sees me here, plus with a bouquet, he will kick my ass this time." He added, grimacing and gave me a smug grin. I burst out laughing. He cleared his throat and asked nervously. "Will you have dinner with me?" I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "An apology dinner." He added, giving me his mesmerizing smile.

"Yes." I replied happily and bit my lower lip nervously. He smiled widely and led me towards his car.

We were having dinner when Tristan and Mila approached us.

"Cody?" Tristan said, surprised and travelled his gaze from him to me. "Emily, good evening." He added and gave Cody a grin.

Cody cleared his throat as he stood up and mumbled. "Tristan."

"Good evening." I greeted them.

"Good evening." Mila said softly, giving us a warm smile.

"What a beautiful surprise!" Tristan exclaimed, grinning. Cody gave him a dirty look, mumbling something under his breath. "If you two don't mind, may we join you?" Tristan asked, resting his hand on Mila's back.

"Tristan, let's not bother them." Mila suggested, giving us an apologetic look.

"Will we bother you? Is it a special dinner?" He asked, looking at Cody with a grin on his face.

"Oh, no. Please, join us." I replied shyly.

"Yes, you don't bother us, Mila." Cody said as he gave Tristan a dirty look.

Tristan smirked at him arrogantly and said to his wife as he traveled his gaze from Cody to her. "Look, baby. We don't bother."

I was talking to Tristan and Mila while Cody was eating his meal in silence without joining our conversation properly. His expression was grumpy. When we asked him about something, he just replied with one syllable word.

"Emily, would you like to come to our house for dinner tomorrow? Cody is joining us for dinner tomorrow too. You can come with him." Mila suggested softly.

"Umm... I..." I looked at Cody, biting my lower lip. "I don't know. Maybe some other time." I mumbled as I traveled my gaze from Cody to Mila.

"Please, Emily. Don't refuse." Mila insisted.

"Yes, you should come." Cody said, giving me a warm smile.

"Fine." I nodded, smiling.

"Perfect!" Tristan exclaimed, smiling. "Cody will pick you up." He added.

"No. I will come myself. If you gave me the address...." I said.

"No, Cody will pick you up. Could you, Cody?" Tristan asked, smirking.

"Sure. I will pick you up." Cody replied, looking at me. I nodded.

"Great! We will have fun. And especially, you should see Joshua with Cody. When they get together, it is always fun." Mila confessed, grinning.
