"I thought it'd take a couple hours, and I'd be done in time to hike Solstice" Chris said looking into a hole

"Well, look on the bright side. At least we saved you from getting eaten by a mountain lion." Street shrugged as Chris backed up from the wall

"Hey, I figure we start right here, and get this ready for the flat-screen TV." Luca now stepped forward

"You're not-you're not just gonna paint over those holes, are you?" Y/n asked as she looked at the walls that had holes  and spray paint on them

"No, I know that. I bought spackling paste for it." Luca turned around and looked at them all

"Spackle, for that?" Chris pointed to the wall

"Yeah."

"No, man, you need a new drywall to patch that." Chris shook her head "Then you have to sand and prime before you even think about painting. And you can't do any of that until you fix all these roof leaks."

"How do you both not know this stuff?" Y/n stated as she looked at the ceiling that had water damage

"Cause I rented all my life." Luca shrugged "If something needed to get fixed, I just called the super."

"What about you?" Chris looked to street

"No good excuse, really."

"Okay, so you can field-strip and clean an HK blindfolded but you guys don't know how to paint a wall?" Chris rose a brow at them as she reached for her phone

"Yeah."

"No."

"I'm gonna see if my uncle can spare a couple of guys from his construction crew." Chris shook her head at the two

"Yeah" luca stated giving her a high five

"you owe me, though." she warned before walking away to answer her phone "Uncle Sarzo."

"Guys, you remember my Uncle Sarzo and my cousin Tomas, right?" Chris said as they walked into the room

"Hey, what's up? Thanks for coming, man." Luca walked forward giving them hugs "Hey, good to see you. How are you, bro?" He backed up and mentioned towards the house "So what do you think?"

"Maybe you can still cancel the sale." Satrzo made a face at the room

"Oh, hell no, man, this is a great deal." Luca shook his head "This is part of the city program for cops."

"You pay a quarter of the listing price." Chris informed her uncle

"Unless you paid a dollar, they overcharged you, dude." Thomas crossed his arms over his chest making Luca punch him lightly in the arm

"We've handled worse." Sarzo looked to Thomas "Remember that house in Boyle Heights?"

"Yeah, we-we solved that with a bulldozer." Thomas stated trying to be quiet but failed

"Dude... Can we get started, please?" Luca pouted and they nodded "Yeah, thank you. I appreciate it."

"You can thank Chris." Sarzo looked over at her with a smile "We're just paying her back a favor."

"Favor?" Street asked looking st her, y/n smacked his arm telling him to stop

"First, we're gonna need to, uh, get some new drywall" sarzo stepped forward "then we need to sand and prime before we can paint."

"Yeah, she already told us that." Luca pointed to Chris

"You pick out a color at least?" Sarzo asked, luca and street gave each other looks taking no as an answer he spoke up "I always recommend Navajo White."
