Nicholas's POV

It was just a matter of time before Peter is out of my way. Then I can have Nerea all to myself.

Standing in the throne room due to being summoned by my father was nothing extraordinary.

My mother was seated at her seat but she looked worried. She knew about Nerea and she supported me but my father had no clue.

Goddess knows what would happen if he ever did find out.

My father soon walked through the doors but he was accompanied by his beta . His beta seemed to have brought his mate and their annoying daughter that I despised.

Why you might ask? well because she believes that we are mates and always keeps on talking about her being queen and ruling by my side.

I have Nerea now,so thats not going to happen anytime soon.

"Why have you summoned me father!"

"Straight to the the point son as always. I have brought my royal Beta and his daughter Areith because I have something important to announce"

"What is it!" I was getting impatient. A few minutes from now Peter was to die and I'm supposed to be consoling Nerea

"You my son are to get married to Areith in a months time!"

"What!"

"Thank you your majesty for this opportunity. I promise to be the best Queen in existence!"

"Shut up you power hungry she wolf. Mother ,you cant approve of this right!"

"I'm sorry " she mouthed.

She knew about the whole thing.

I didn't bother to stay ,I left immediately and rushed to Nerea's place..

On arrival, I found her kneeling on the ground with a far away look on her face . Straight ahead I could see Peter's dead body laying on the ground.

I expected her to be crying and wailing but all she did was look straight ahead..

"Nerea I.."

"I thought we were friends"she whispered.

Her statement confused me

"We are friends Nerea and we could even be more"

"Then why did you do this"

"Do what ?"

"You killed him"she said in a low voice but due to my good hearing I heard it.

How did she find...

Her door came tumbling down revealing the royal guards..

What were they doing here!

"Prince Nicholas, your presence is needed in the castle!"one of them spoke.

There goes my identity. Nerea seemed oddly calm. She already knew

"Son,get out"my father's voice thundered.

This isn't how this was to play out.

My father walked in accompanied by my mother and Areith. Why were they all here.

"Is this the reason why you refuse to marry Areith. Because of a meer peasant human girl son!"

Areith glared hard at Nerea amd it made me snarl at her . She jumped and stood behind my father.

All that while Nerea just sat calmly looking straight ahead showing no sign of fear

"What do you have to say for yourself human girl"

"Your son killed my mate"she whispered.

Mate? That so called Peter was her mate. How did she even know about mates. Peter must have told her.

My father looled at me in disbelief and shook his head.

What I did was punishable by death but he wouldn't kill me. I was his only heir.

"Kill the girl"Father growled addressing the guards.

"Mine!"I growled but the guards didn't care

They grabbed her and dragged her out by her hair. I followed them and tried to pry their hands off

I snatched a sword from one of the guards and tried to scare them off.

One of the guards holding Nerea used her as a shield making me to drive the sword right through her gut.

On seeing this he let go and moved away.

It hit me all of a sudden.

Nerea.

I pulled the sword out hastily and she dropped to the ground.

I cupped her face and wiped away her tears

"I'm so sorry"tears formed in my eyes. I did this to her. I hurt her

"I trusted you Nick"she rasped out

"I did it because I love you Nerea"

"I hate you"she whispered and her heart stopped.

She was dead and it was all because of me.

I did something that I know I shouldn't.

I pushed her hair aside and sunk my teeth into her neck. I marked her.

"Till we meet again Nerea"
