Chapter 23: Family

Oh. My. Gosh. The snow is awful!! But luckily school is cancelled tomorrow! :)

Avery

"Oh my gosh." I breathed out as I covered my mouth with my hands.

"What?" He asked cautiously.

"I know where your daughter is." I said slowly.

"Where?!" He asked almost jumping out of his seat.

"She's in my pack."

"What?!" Carlos asked standing up.

I nodded unable to say anything else.

"How did you find her?"

I shrugged. "She was hiding and I tripped over her when I was running."

"Why were you running?" Tony asked.

"Rogues came our......territory." I trailed off thinking. "Oh my gosh! The rogues that attacked your pack are in our holding cells! Let's go!" I shouted as I grabbed the coffee.

We jumped up and headed over to the truck I brought.

"So she's really here?" Carlos asked buckling up.

"Yes." I smiled and threw it into drive.

"How is she?" He asked concerned.

"She was a little beaten up, but she's fine. We took good care of her."

"That's good to hear."

"Oh. Another thing." I said quietly.

He turned to me. "What?"

"Well you see." I laughed nervously.

"What. Happened?"

"Uhh. Ashe may or may not have found her mate."

He started at me for a second before his jaw clenched. "WHAT?!"

"Don't yell at me. And I'm just saying. He happens to be the beta."

He growled but stayed quiet.

Well.....

It took some time but we finally arrived at the pack house.

And as I pulled in, I noticed a pacing Jake, David and Liam trying to calm him down, Ashe laughing, Katie and Lilly playing soccer, and many pack members running towards the truck.

I hopped out and was instantly swarmed with pack members.

"Guys I'm fine. I need Ashe." I told them.

I grabbed Carlos' hand and pulled him over to Ashe.

"Avery!" Jake growled and walked up to me.

"Hi Jake. How are y-" I didn't get to finish because he pulled me into him and crashed his lips onto mine.

"Don't you ever do that again. Got it?" He asked after a while of kissing me.

I nodded still light headed from the kiss.

He smiled and pulled me closer.

But he growled.

I lifted my head to ask why, but he put me behind him. "Who the hell are you?" He growled and Carlos and Tony.

I looked over and saw Ashe looking at them with wide eyes.

"Dad?" Ashe asked in disbelief.

Carlos opened him arms and nodded.

"Dad!" Ashe yelled and pushed David to the side and jumped into her dad's arms.

"I missed you baby girl." Carlos said hugging her tighter.

"I missed you too." She cried.

David got up and dusted himself off before raising an eyebrow at me.

"When I went to get you guys coffee, which is in the truck by the way, I was waiting for it and I overheard them talking. I invited them in and got them food because they were starving and we starting talking. He had the same story as Ashe, and I asked him what pack he came from. When he said the White Dawn Pack, so I asked him who his daughter was. He said Ashe and I told him she was in our pack. And so here we are." I ended with a smile.

"Oh wow." Jake said.

I turned him to and he smiled at me. "I'm glad they are together again."

He nodded and looked at them. "Me too."

"Avery!" I heard Lilly shout.

I turned to look at her and she ran up to me. "Yes?" I asked.

"Who is the other guy. He's really cute." She giggled.

I looked up and I saw Tony standing there looking around.

"Oh that's Tony." I said and made eye contact when he heard him name.

"He's really cute."

"Go say hi."

She shook her head frantically. "I'm too scared. What if he doesn't like me."

"It's fine. You'll always have me." Liam teased.

Lilly waved him off and turned to me. "I'm so not talk-"

"Hey."

Lilly squeaked and say Tony standing there with a wide smile.

"H-hi." Lilly said in a whisper.

They stood there and just stared at each other.

"Uh?" I said laughing.

Lilly shook her head and snapped out of it. "I'm uh.....I'm.."

"Lilly." I said for her.

She gave him a nervous smile. "Ya. What she said."

He chuckled. "I'm Tony."

"How old are you?"

"I'm 9." He smiled turning a light shade of pink.

"I'm 6. Do you want to play soccer with me and Katie?" She offered.

"Ya. I'd love too." Tony accepted.

"What about Liam?" I asked with a smile.

"Who?" Lilly asked still staring into Tony's eyes.

"You know. The guy you thought was cute?" Liam said.

Tony's smile dropped but he didn't stop looking at Lilly.

"Don't know who that is." Lilly said.

Tony smiled again and grabbed her hand and walked off towards Katie, but not before turning around and giving Liam a glare.

I looked over at Liam and he was staring at their retreating forms with an open mouth.

"Ouch. Rejected." Jake teased.

"I can not believe she just ditched me." Liam said. "And did you see that glare Tony gave me."

I laughed. "I think he doesn't like you very much."

"And look it." Jake pointed.

We turned around and saw Tony with his arm around Lilly's shoulders.

"I think he is staking a claim on her." I smiled.

Liam scoffed and crossed his arms.

"You're just jealous because you finally found a girl that doesn't think you are cute." Jake teased.

"All girls find me cute." Liam pouted.

"Not me." I said.

"You better not." Jake growled pulling me closer.

"Not all girls find you attractive Liam." David laughed.

"What ever. Now I have a 9 year old boy who doesn't like me."

I shrugged. "Oh well."

"Avery." Carlos called my name as he walked over to us.

"Ya?" I asked and smiled at him.

"Thank you for taking care of Ashe."

"Of course. She's now my new best friend."

"She's right dad." Ashe said smiling at me. "She helped me. She didn't care that I was a rogue. She took me in and protected me from everyone else. Rogue or a pack member. She fed me and everything. She was always there for me."

"Thank you. Words cannot express how much I thank you for doing this." Carlos said as a tear slipped out.

I shook my head. "No thanks needed. I'm just doing what a Luna would do. And besides. I couldn't leave her out there with the rogues." I turned to Jake. "Speaking of the rogues. Do you still have them in the cells?"

He nodded. "Ya. Why?"

"Those were some of the rogues that killed off their pack."

Jake's eyes grew black and he let out a growl. "We are going to go talk to them."

"I'm coming with." I said looking into his eyes.

He shook his head. "No Avery. I don't trust rogues and I don't want you to be there incase something happens."

"I don't care Jake." I said putting my hands on his chest. "They messed with my bestfriend."

"I'm coming too." I heard Ashe say behind me.

"No no no no." David said shaking his head.

"And why not? They messed with my pack." Ashe said glaring at David.

"I don't care. It's too dangerous."

"Avery and I are going and that's final." Ashe said. I nodded my head and looked back at Jake.

He growled but sighed and nodded. "You stay by me at all times. You have to be in my sight and holding my hand the entire time."

"Deal." I smiled and hugged him.

"Same goes for you too Ashe." David said sternly.

She smiled and pecked his lips.

"So you must be my daughter's mate." Carlos said crossing his arms.

David stiffened and held onto Ashe tighter. "Y-yes sir."

"Good. I want to talk to you." He said with a hard glare.

David gulped and nodded. "O-okay sir."

David kissed Ashe's cheek and then left with her dad.

"I've never seen David so nervous before." Jake laughed.

"Well he is talking to his mate's dad." I laughed.

"This ought to be good." Ashe giggled smiling.

Sorry it took so long. I've been really busy. So I apologize.

So the roads are soo bad. Oh my gosh. I was going like 30 and I was still slipping around lol.
