Chapter 41: Disaster Dinner

I went to class just like I have been doing since I started to avoid Kieran, but this time I think he is giving me the space that I wanted.

And it hurts more than anything.
I agreed to eat lunch with them but with the thing going on between me and Kieran, the lunch was not a good Idea.

"Well I haven't seen you in lunch for days Maddie, What happened?" Emma trying to break the silence on the table.

"Um I.."

"Yes?" She nodded for me to continue.

"I... I" I cannot let the words out.

"She wanted space!" Kieran said angrily and walk out the cafeteria, everyone was shocked about his reaction then I rose up to my seat and run crying to the bathroom.

Zoe, Emma and Marissa followed me.

"Mads! Open up!" Marissa knocking at the stall.

"Come on! Maddie!" Emma said "or else i'm going to ruin this door!"

I slowly open the door and me sitting at the toilet seat crying, they all came up to me hugging me.

"What is wrong Maddie?" Zoe ask "is it about Cole?"

I snap my head to face her.

"I saw you heading out yesterday with him, are you and cole.." Zoe thinking twice whether to ask me or not.

"No, Cole is just a friend." I responded wiping my tears.

"Then if it's not Cole then what is it?" Emma asked eagerly.

"Let us understand? Quen said Kieran is so miserable because of this thing between you." Marissa spoke.

"I'm miserable too" I said choking at the sobs I'm letting out.

"We see that, But why put yourselves in this situation?" Zoe said wiping the tears that was falling on my cheeks.

"If only you knew." burying my face in my arms.

"Then let us know then. " Zoe trying to unbury my face to look at their confused and worried face. I gulp before speaking.

"Kieran... he's my brother." the words left my mouth and the gasped in surprise was heard, Emma even tried to not faint to what she heard.

"How?" Zoe asked cupping my hands.

And I told them the story of my life and how Kieran is my brother.

"Oh my god!" Marissa said with hands over her mouth.

"But.. But!" Emma can't figure out the words to say.

"That is why I have been trying to avoid him." I explained.

"Does he know?" Emma finally spoke.

"Of course he doesn't" Zoe answered for me "I'm sorry Maddie!" She hugged me.

"Please don't tell anyone yet!" I begged them.

"I will not!"

"I promise!"

"Of course!"

"Thank you!" I hugged them all.

"So what about Kieran?" Zoe looking at me worrily.

"We are having dinner tonight the 4 of us, Pa is finally meeting his son." I deeply sigh.

"You are coming?"

"I have too." I bury my face in my palms.

"You'll get through this!"

"I hope so!"

I sat nervously shaking in my seat, my palms sweating it never done that before. My dad was nervous as well he kept looking at his watch.

"Hi Henry!" Then a woman spoke in greetings, they were standing right behind me. I was frozen in my seat, I can't move.

"Hi Belle!" My dad kindly offered a smile but I still can't look.

"And this is my son, Kieran." As he spoke Kieran's name I know that I will   face him sooner, even though my heart is breaking inside of me. I have to wear a smile.

"And this is my daughter Maddie." I rose to my seat and face Belle offered her a smile then my eyes connected with Kieran's, his face confused.

"You are the one at the park with the dog!" She pulls me into a hug.

"Yes, I remember." I smiled

"Come sit!" My dad pulled her a seat infront of him and Kieran sitting opposite to where I was sitting, he was trying so hard to catch my eyes but  continuesly avoided his confused gaze.

"Why are we here?" Kieran leaning on the table first looking at me then to my dad and his mom "because I'm so confused!" Our eyes met.

"Well, I was suppose to say it after the meal but now that you've ask might as well say it now." his mom spoke happily but Kieran's gaze were fixed on me.

"About your biological dad Kieran" she continued.

"What about him?" He now looks at his mother, me looking down on my dress tearing the table napkin on my hands.

"I'm your father Kieran!" Then my dad spoke the words that cause my heart to break into a million pieces.

"WHAT?!" he stood up his chair and was angry. "You're my father? This is crazy!"

People are looking at us, whispering to eachothers ears.

"He is your father Kieran, it's Henry!" His mother is trying to calm him down but he just won't.

"This Fucking absurd!" He run his finger through his hair furiously. "Did..did you know?" He was now looking at me. "Maddie! Did you fucking know?!" I looked at him in the eyes and composed myself before saying the words that could not only hurt me but him aswell.

"Yes."

After hearing my answer he stormed out the restaurant.

"His a friend, I'll talk to him." I explained to them and followed Kieran outside.

I saw him throwing punches at the nearby dumster.

"Kieran" I walk closer to him, painfully looking at his bleeding knickles.

"You Fucking knew!" He threw in a punch, causing it to bleed more. "Is this why you've been avoiding me, that you wanted space?!"

I tried to hold his bleeding hands but before I can he took it away.

"Fuck Maddie!" He yelled at me.

I was starting to cry "I'm sorry Kieran."

"Your my sister! How long have you known?!" I looked at him. "How long!!??" He threw in another punch.

"Last week at the hospital" I walked over to him but he moved away. "I saw her hugged you then I remembered her from the photo and that my dad told me that they had a son. It all came to me when you called her mom, I'm so sorry Kieran!"

"You didn't tell me, instead you avoided me!"

"I thought it was for the best that you hate me rather for you to love me more, for goodness sake Kieran you're my brother!" I snapped.

"Well congratulations your plan worked!" He walked away leaving his car on the parking lot.

I wiped my tears and walked back inside, people still staring about what happened. I sat back to my seat.

"Where is he?" His mom asked worriedly.

"I'm sorry, he was pretty upset and he left" I drank the water in front of me.
