I turned around, but there was really nothing for me to do, since all I had to wait on was the butter. I didn't want to turn around and have him be upset at me, so I just stood still with my back facing him, listening to the sound of the milk sloshing around in the jar.

Lionel was pausing often as well, taking deep breaths.

He's definitely getting tired. I don't wanna stand here and listen to him breathe.

I turned around, and he suddenly stopped.

"Why are you turning around!? I told you to look away!" he yelled.

"Shhhhhhhh!" I put my hand over his mouth, trying to get him to be quiet. "We can take turns shaking the jar to speed things up a bit. Here, let's switch right now,"

I took the jar out of his hands and started shaking it again. Fortunately, Lionel was cooperative with this arrangement.

After ten more minutes of the hardest workout if my life, the butter finally began to solidify in the jar, hitting against the sides of the jar as I shook it.

"It's done now!" I grinned and opened the jar, taking the chunk of butter out with the bare hands and holding it under the water.

"What are you doing!" Lionel asked, grabbing my hand to stop the butter from touching the water.

"I have to wash the butter to get the buttermilk out. Or else the butter will be bad."

He released my hand, "I see..."

I continued to rinse out the butter, having to stand on my toes to be able to properly reach the water. It was a struggle, but I got it done, all while Lionel was continuously staring at me.

"Alright, now I'm done," I said, while shaking the excess water off the butter.

Now I need to figure out how to melt this.

"We can start on the bread now?" Lionel asked, uncrossing his arms.

As I sectioned off the butter into a few parts, I answered, "Yes, but I have to figure out how to melt the butter to pour into the liquid ingredients."

I spread some butter along the cast iron skillet in order to grease it.

"If you need to melt the butter, I can do that," Lionel said, crossing his arms again.

"Really? How?"

"Just give me the butter first," He said, trying to take the cast iron skillet.

"Hold on! The butter stays in the skillet. Let me get another bowl." I reached into the cabinets, searching for another smaller metal bowl that I could use, and put the butter into it.

Lionel took the bowl and his hands started to glow.

What the heck.

The metal of the bowl started to warm up, and the butter inside began to melt.

"Wait! Be careful, so the butter doesn't burn!" I quickly grabbed my spatula so I could stir the butter around as it melted.

In just a minute the butter was all melted.

"That's perfect!" I beamed, "Thank you so much," I said, while grabbing the bowl of butter from him.

"You're welcome."

"I also have something else for you to do," I said. "Do you want to?"

"Alright, what is it?" He replied.

"I need you to whisk this bowl of egg whites until stiff peaks," I said, while holding up the bowl with two egg whites and a metal whisk.

"What's stiff peaks," he asked, while taking the bowl and whisk out of my hands.

"Just whisk until I tell you to stop," I said. "It might take a long time though, just a warning."

"I can do it," he said.

"Then I'll leave it to you, thanks!" I said, while smiling.

"Yeah, whatever..." Lionel muttered under his breath.

I feel bad for his arms. First butter, now eggs. I really miss my stand mixer...
