Sir Leonard's POV:

When I received a letter with the Voltaire family seal on it, I assumed that I had wronged them in some way and they were bringing me in for execution. It was to my relief that they were just summoning me to be a teacher for their eldest daughter, Corvalia.

Many rumors had spread across high society about Corvalia. They had even reached The Royal Academy, which was where I spent most of my time studying and researching books in the library.

Most rumors made her appear as some sort of spoiled brat, who was obsessed with getting the crown prince's attention. There had been stories of her making scenes at parties, which was why she was not invited very often. And she was only seven years old too!

I never really cared much for gossip, so I disregarded the rumors at first. However, my twin brother served as a knight for the Voltaire family, and he confirmed the rumors. After hearing from him myself, I felt as though Lady Corvalia wouldn't last a day in school.

About a week later, I traveled to the Voltaire family estate with some supplies and a test I created to gauge her skills.

I walked around in their library looking at titles and flipping through pages of books I found interesting while I waited for Lady Corvalia to appear for her class.

From one of the windows, I could see my brother training with the other knights out in the fields.

I heard the door to the library open, and I turned around to a young girl with a maid.

I bowed and said, "Hello Lady Corvalia. I'm Sir Leonard, your tutor."

She curtseyed back, saying, "Thank you Sir Leonard. I look forward to your lessons."

I was taken aback by her polite attitude. Although she looked young, she already held the same poise that an older lady would have.

The rumors stated that she often wore outlanding clothing in order to garner more attention. They must have been wrong then. But my brother saw her with his own two eyes... I thought to myself.

I guess I will just have to see the truth for myself then.
