The maid led me to the library, where my lessons were going to take place.

A man with long brown hair tied into a low ponytail was standing with his back facing me, looking at one of the books on a nearby bookshelf. There was a table with three textbooks stacked on it, as well as another pile of papers.

The man turned around and I noticed he wore a pair of glasses.

He smiled at me and said, "Hello Lady Corvalia. I'm Sir Leonard, your tutor."

I curtseyed to him and said, "Thank you Sir Leonard. I look forward to your lessons."

When I looked back up at him, he seemed surprised at my behavior, but quickly put a more neutral expression on his face.

He pulled up a chair and I sat in it.

"Today, I'll have you take a test first, just to get an understanding of your skills," Sir Leonard said as he placed a pencil and eraser in front of me.

"The test will be timed, so please start once I say so. When you finish, just call for me and I will grade it," he said, while pulling out a pocket watch.

"You may begin."

I flipped over the stack of papers and saw that math came first.

This is too easy... At this rate I'll finish the whole test in 3 minutes! I thought.

The first page was completed quickly, since it was just basic addition and subtraction. I moved through the rest of the test easily as well, completing multiplication and division, as well as some basic grammar rules. For the history portion, I was initially worried, but realized that Corvalia had done some studying on that topic beforehand so I managed to complete a few questions.

As I worked through, I kept thinking about Sir Leonard.

He seems so familiar. He must have appeared in the story at some point, but I don't seem to recognize his name.

"I'm finished with the test, Sir Leonard," I said, as I stacked the papers back together neatly.
