"So when are you buying a car?" Lily asked as we left the school gate.

"I don't know. I can't afford it right now. With Alex's fee, bills, taxes etc etc, things are pretty tight.", I replied shrugging.

"Try to ask your good for nothing mother sometime. You are here, sacrificing your life for Alex and she is in New York, enjoying with her perfect husband and perfect family.", A frown etched on her forehead as she mentioned my mother.

I chose not to answer and remained quiet.

"Okay girl, see you tomorrow.", she said, starting her car and soon, she was out of my sight.

I trudged along the pavement at a slow speed, my mind occupied with the different thoughts.

Under the summer sun, I felt the warmth of sun forcing beads of sweat down my forehead. The heat was so devastating that I thought I was going to pass out on the spot, dehydrated.

Hugging my bag in front of my chest, I started walking at a quick pace. My house was at fifteen minutes distance from the college. I had a car but I had to sell it to pay for the house rent last year.

As I reached the street leading to my house, a car drove past me at a rash speed, catching me off guard. My mind turned into a haze and my legs froze. The next thing I remember, I was on the mud-caked ground.

Sharp pain erupted from my leg, making me shriek in pain. The car that caused the accident stopped at a distance and a man, dressed in a driver's uniform stormed out of the car.

Rushing towards me, the old man helped me stand up and muttered a quick apology.

A wave of anger passed through me when he said that his boss asked to take care of the money in case there was any serious injury.

Ignoring the pain in my leg, I trekked towards the car. Just because I was walking on foot, he thought I didn't have money to pay for the hospital fee. Balling my fist, I thumped on the window of the expensive looking car in front of me.

"Come out you rich, insolent brat. What did you think? Just because you have a car, you can look down upon others. Come out quickly or I-", my words stuck in my throat as the door opened suddenly.

A man stepped out of the car. Not just an ordinary man, but a very handsome one. He had tousled dark brown hair, which was thick and lustrous and eyes, which were a mesmerizing deep ocean blue, with flecks of silver roaming around. His lips were pale and thin and his nose slender. His jaw was strong and defined, as if molded from granite.

"Excuse me, miss.", He spoke, pulling me out of the trance. That's when I realized the reason I was standing in front of me.

No Hazel. Boys are fool. Especially these rich, handsome kind. Don't fall into his trap.

Listening to my inner voice, I heaved a sigh. "You, Mr. I-own-a-Mercedes, I don't need your money. Just give me a damn apology so that I can make my way back to my house.", I shouted and his eyebrows furrowed.

"First of all, it's not a Mercedes. It's a Range Rover.", He said in a calm tone, his voice velvety like melted chocolate.

"Whatever.", I said harshly.

"Secondly, my driver was driving fast because I need to reach courtroom before 2pm.", He answered in a low voice.

"I bet you are in for a hit-and-run case.", I taunted and his nostrils flared.

"I am a lawyer. And if you don't mind, I would like to go back into my car.", Saying, he settled in and ordered his driver to start the car, leaving me standing on the ground with an angry scowl on my face.

"Rude bas***d.", I cursed out bitterly.

...

As I entered the house, voice of a girl reached my ears. Following the source of the voice, I walked towards the living room where a girl was trapped between Alex and our refrigerator.

As he leaned towards her, I turned around immediately, colliding with the door as a result.

"Sh*t." I grunted loudly, rubbing my forehead.

Turning around once again, I looked at their flushed faces. The girl was very beautiful, she had greyish blue eyes and light brown hair. Her short height was making her even more adorable.

"I was just tutoring her.", Alex cleared, looking embarrassed.

"Really? As far as I remember, your grades were quite low in the last few tests.", I said in a serious tone. I was actually enjoying this whole scene.

"Uhh.. I am Anna, Alex's class fellow.", The girl said in a low voice.

"It's nice to meet you Anna. I'm Hazel. This idiot's sister.", I said joking.

"I've heard a lot about you.", She smiled.

"Really? Well, make yourself comfortable. I am going to take a nap.", Saying, I picked up an apple and trekked towards my room.

"And no funny business.", I shouted while ascending the stairs.

...

"Hey, there must be something wrong with my eyes.", Lorenzo asked. He was the son of the owner of this cafe. With his rich Italian accent, he was quite popular among the ladies.

"What happened?", I asked, looking at him.

"I just can't take them off you.", He replied, winking and earned a slap on his shoulder from me.

"What? Is it my mistake that you are looking stunning right now?", He said defensively.

"I would suggest you to shut up if you love your pretty face. Otherwise, I won't stop myself from ruining it next time.", Saying, I left to serve coffee to the customers.

"Why so salty, Haze.", He asked and I rolled my eyes in return.

As I returned home from cafe, Alex was watching Teen Wolf on the TV.

"Hey, I cooked spaghetti with meatballs. Your plate is in the microwave.", He informed me, without taking his eyes off the TV.

"I am not hungry.", Sitting on the couch beside him, I slowly mumbled.

"What happened?" Switching off the TV, he asked.

"Nothing, I am just tired. I guess doing overtime in the cafe was wrong decision.", Closing my eyes, I leaned back.

"Don't worry sis. I have asked Greg's father if I could work with him. And he instantly agreed.", He looked excited.

"But I told you-"

"No sis, you can't stop me this time. Look at you, you definitely need some rest.", He said.

"This is my duty.", I said, still in the same position.

"No, this was mom's duty. But she doesn't even care that she has two more children.", He yelled angrily, hurt flashed in his eyes.

Walking up to him, I wrapped my arms around him, patting his back in a consoling manner.

"We are enough for each other.", I whispered and he hummed in response.

"By the way, what's going on between you and that girl, Anna.", I asked, separating myself from him. A blush crept his face.

"Just a friend." She answered.

"Just a friend?", I said, lifting my eyebrow suggestively.

"Yup.", He said, a soft smile formed on his lips.
