Hometown Habitual

It's hit or miss a love hate relationship,
My town contains happy heroes and woke folk lip,
I get along for the most part most days,
But youthful indiscretions wear like scars on my face,

Some people live for judging others character,
Holding you to high standards like a human editor,
Sinister all week and pious Sunday morning,
However I'm atypical with no interest in conforming,

I miss the family village of the 80's generation,
It was those many mentors that moulded this creation,
But todays mentorship is sorely lacking,
They prefer carbon copies without spinal backing,

But despite my grievances I'll most likely die here,
It's the only population that spawns a sentimental tear,
And when on the road I only have kind words to describe,
My hometown where my vibes well-nigh jibe.
