Hayley's POV
The following morning when I woke up, I found myself in Christian's arms and I could not believe how my heart responded to his smile, completely betraying me.
No matter what he does there's always a little space in my heart that urges me to forgive him and move on
But this time the damage is far too much and far too real and I'm sure from where I'm standing that there is absolutely no turning back.
I quickly got out of his embrace and ran towards the bathroom
Later I came down to see everyone gathered and I suddenly got very nervous. I stood beside Christian as he told everyone the truth
Christian's POV
"We got married yesterday at the old church" I said more of an announcement
I knew I had to come clean because Caleb I'm sure already knows and this isn't something I want to hide in fact not just my parents, I want to tell the whole world that this beautiful girl is now mine, completely .
After I made that announcement no one spoke for a while. It was so silent that I could hear Hayley's heavy breathing beside me
"WHAT?!" my dad yelled as he slammed his hand on the sofa causing my mom to flinch at his tone.
"Robert "my mom whispered softly which caused him to calm down
"What are you saying Christian do are you speaking the truth?" Lucas said in a firm voice to which I nodded my head and there was a silence again but if felt more comfortable as if everyone was accepting the reality
"But Christian you could've told us, what was the hurry?" Hayley's mom spoke this time concerned but I could see a hint of calmness flashing in her eyes.
"Mom this was a mutual decision" Hayley spoke in a soft voice and plastered a small smile on her face.
My heart did a backflip at how she defended me even if she wanted to kill me for doing that
"Christian are u sure?" my mom asked disappointingly because I knew how much she wanted to do for the wedding
"Uhm yes" I said
"But if you want we can organize a proper wedding with all the rituals carried out the way they're supposed to" Hayley spoke
"That's a good idea, let's work on it" my mom said standing up, she kissed me on the cheeks hugged Hayley and told her something which I couldn't hear.
My dad and Francesca also did the same and all three of them left with Sarah who also congratulated Hayley.
Lucas Leo and Caleb stood there silently and I was waiting for them to leave as well.
Lucas instead of approaching me approached Hayley and hugged her-that's when I noticed tears forming in her eyes, my hands clenched into a fist as I tried to control my anger
"Congratulations, take good care of my favorite person and if you ever make her cry I will kill you" Leo spoke firmly but then broke into a smile and hugged me
Caleb also hugged me but his hug seemed more genuine. He smiled faintly and said "do not make her cry, ever. I may be your cousin but she is like my sister and I will not hesitate to fight you if you harm her" Caleb said coldly more of a threat
"Okay okay I get it saviors"
Both of them smiled and left leaving only Lucas
"Chris, if you don't mind I'd like to have a word with her, alone"
For a second I was taken aback by his words but then I left the lounge and went in the kitchen to prepare breakfast
Hayley's POV
"He forced you didn't he?" Lucas asked me as soon as Christian left
I blinked back the tears which were forming in my eyes and tried to not answer him but he wasn't having it
Lucas came forward and made me look at him then asked again
This time I just nodded and he took a deep breath and hugged me tightly, apparently it was because I was shivering and as I hugged him back I felt all the brotherly love I never felt
Without saying a word he kissed my cheeks and left and I just stood there numb
After a while I pulled myself together and went inside the kitchen dying of hunger when I saw Christian making food for us
He didn't notice me immediately and so I stood there admiring his cooking skills which were probably better than mine.
"Hey, c'mon have some breakfast with me" he glanced at me and broke the silence as I took a step forward and sat on the counter
Christian looked confused for a second but then he turned back to his cooking
"What?" I asked him like why was he ignoring me when I should be the one doing so?
"Hmm nothing" he said and took my hands in his as he massaged them softly. I saw this side of Christian for the first time today and I don't know how to feel about this
I felt tears forming in my eyes again and Christian immediately tensed looked me in my eyes and kissed me softly on the lips
I didn't give in but he didn't force me, he pulled back. He smiled and served us breakfast which was pancakes
We sat on the chairs eating silently when his phone rang which he ignored
It rang again and this time he excused himself and picked it up
Christian's POV
We sat silently as we ate our pancakes when suddenly George called me. I ignored at first because I wasn't sure if I should ruin our first morning together
When it rang the second time I felt a sense of emergency because George never calls me twice until it is super important, so I excused myself from her and picked it up
"This better be important George" I spoke in a firm voice
"It is very important boss, that dude kai you asked me to gather information on; I have some really interesting information about him."
I straightened my shoulder suddenly getting very interested
"What is it?"
"According to my informants Kai black does not own any business and is not very social with his life"
"So what does he do?"
"He works with the mafia"
I felt my entire body tense at this new piece of information but I knew something was off from the very moment I saw his annoying face
"And with who"
"Sir he is Jonathan black smith's right hand."
