The next morning, I woke up to a message from Rachel telling me she had accepted my apology and acknowledged that she had made a mistake by making a big deal out of the situation. I was first relieved, but I soon realized Sharon hadn't replied. It was a message I had sent on the group chat that I set up a while back which involved just the three of us because I felt it was easier to communicate any message that applied to both of them.

"Why hasn't she replied to me yet? Has she chosen to disregard my message or is she still sleeping? Am I supposed to acknowledge Rachel's message and pretend like I didn't see her ignore my message? These were the concerns that were going through my head, and the more I thought about them, the more I became worried that our friendship was about to come to an end because  Sharon wasn't the kind to harbor grudges against people and will let you know when you offend her.

"Or maybe I should send a direct message to her but that would come across as being desperate. I mean she also owes me an apology for thinking I was being unfair to them by spending more time with Alex."

Thankfully, our class representative had stated that our today's class had been canceled on the department group chat yesterday evening. I won't have to deal with facing my friends about how I behaved with them yesterday. And I made the decision to give Sharon the entire day to respond to my message before assuming that she is purposefully ignoring me. By Monday, hopefully,  everything would be back to as it was.

I spent the entire day in my room, so it ended up being a long day. I had a  free day which would have been the ideal time to visit Sharon and Rachel's apartments, but I was unable to because of our strained relationship, which bothered me a lot. I had only gone downstairs to eat and would return to my room to study or take short breaks to watch an episode in the Korean series I was following.

Sister Vivian had left for work while Stephen had left for school. Aunty Joke had visited my room twice to check on me because she was concerned, and I had reassured her that everything was alright and that the only reason I was home was that my class for today had been canceled the day before. Also, Alex and I occasionally texted back and forth. I had decided to visit him the following day, which was Saturday if I could, because I couldn't bear to be miserable by myself.

It was 10 pm and I was relieved that the day was finally coming to an end. I was lying in bed on my bed texting Alex and was constantly checking if Sharon had texted back when I received a text from Sister Vivian's boyfriend.

"Hey Jane are you awake, I'd like to call you"

I quickly sat upright and replied surprised by his unusual message

"Yeah sure you can"

"Hello Jane," Andrew said as I picked up the call

"Hi Andrew, hope all is well"

"Yeah sure, all is well. How are you doing by the way"

"I'm very well thank you. And you?"

"I'm doing well too thank you. So I just want to make sure you are alone before I continue with this conversation" He said

"Yes, I'm alone" I replied hesitantly, unsure of where the conversation was going. "I was about to go to sleep when I got your text"

"Let me just keep an open mind," I thought to myself"

"Ohhh good. So, I called you about Vivian. I want to propose to her and I want to organize a nice surprise proposal for her. I suppose I'll need your assistance on that"

"Oh my God, yes, I'll be ready to help as much as I can" I replied, my face immediately lit up. I wanted to scream so bad because I was super excited but it was late at night and I knew it would be a bad idea to do that.
