"Marshall Donnon, it's nice to meet you both." I shake the hand of the man who's representing me in this impossible case with my impossible father.

It's been a few days since we made the decision to meet and discuss business, now we're setting things in stone.

James insisted on coming since he thought I'd 'Do anything to sabotage getting a lawyer' which I think is bullshit. I'd never purposely lose. I may not think a Lawyer will help anything, but I already made the decision to go with the sweet voice in my head.

"So, from the few words we exchanged, I know your father attempts to take over your business. Correct?" I look at James before nodding my head.

"Correct," James responds.

Marshall takes out a file of paperwork from his briefcase, one packet for both me and James. "Okay, so are you both planning on taking him to court?" I mean it's not like he'd come. If he got a note in the mail with a court date on the corner of the paper, I guarantee he'd throw the paper in a shredder machine and then burn it.

"Look, I'm not going to waste anyone's time here. If you take this case, know that there are illegal things involved. It won't be easy considering our father is a deceiving asshole." I lean on my elbows on top of the table in LI's meeting room. James nods in agreement to my words, and for the first time in a while, I feel like he's on my side.

"So, let me just make this clear now, if your not willing to get your hands dirty and do the unthinkable for this case, let us know now," I explain coldly as to get my point across without wasting my time. I'm not going to sugarcoat this bullshit and let this guy jump headfirst into a shark tank.

He thinks about what I've said, looking between me and James, as if that would give him the confidence to make a decision. Either to decline to our faces, or accept a war against the devil. "I-I accept the terms and conditions of the case. I will do whatever it takes to drive you and your company to victory." James visibly relaxed and I let a small barely there smile cross my lips.

I lean back in my chair, happy with the words he'd said. "Great, but that's not exactly all." He nods his head, waiting for me to continue. Even James looks at me with an expectant look.

"I understand taking this case would be groundbreaking for you, but we need you to tell no one about it. I don't want to hear about your big win or loss in the tabloids or news. You will tell no one, do you understand?" He takes a breath of air as if contemplating on whether he should take on a case that gives him no props. I mean his boss would know about the case from start to finish, if we win, this case is big enough to get him to the top.

After thinking long and hard, he looks up and slides the contract in front of me.

"I'm in."
