Dark shapes surrounded us. Some belonged to humans, others belonged to already shifted crocottas.
I couldn't help but glance around. The rider followed suit, his hand still grasped my wrist in a tight hold. He snarled like the intruders' appearance had landed him In deep shit.
That traitor. Alex had called for backup when he let out that painful cry. Either the noise traveled far or crocottas have pretty good auditory.
I winced when the rider's wet, wrinkly but feeble hands pressed against my skin. For someone with a scarce amount of flesh, he sure has a lot of strength.

I glared at him. His seaweed scent invaded the surrounding air. "Liam is no threat. You don't have to kill him...or me."
The rider tilted his head in a creepy sort of way. His dark moppy hair swayed to the side. He looked like a freaking zombie. "O Liám den ypotíthetai óti ypárchei."
Liam isn't supposed to exist.
I froze. Was not expecting that answer. Why will he say that?
But now isn't the time to have a conversation with my killer. Especially with another group of enemies around the corner.
