Veeranshu's office was a sleek, modern space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. Mahira sat opposite him, her eyes fixed on his face as she asked, "So, what's next? What do you want to do, Veeranshu?"

Veeranshu leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers together as a slow smile spread across his face. "I want you to work for me, Mahira," he said, his voice low and measured.

Mahira's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Work for you? What makes you think I'd be interested in that?"

Veeranshu's smile grew wider. "Because, Mahira, I have a proposition for you. A chance to uncover the truth, to delve into the forgotten history and uncover the secrets that have been hidden for so long. And in return...I'll give you something you've always wanted. Something you've been searching for your whole life."

Mahira's expression turned skeptical, but Veeranshu could see the hint of curiosity in her eyes. "What secrets?" she asked, her voice firm but intrigued.

Veeranshu leaned forward, his eyes glinting with excitement. "The secrets of my past, Mahira. The truth about my existence, about what I am. You see, I'm not just a businessman, not just a wealthy entrepreneur. I'm something more. Something ancient, something powerful. And I think you know it."

Mahira's gaze narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. "What makes you think I'm the right person for this job?"

Veeranshu's smile grew wider. "Because, Mahira, you're the only one who saw my king Avatar in my own era , and you have a connection with me through your dreams , do you think anyone else has this quality ? " ... " And I believe you have the potential to be the first to discover the truth of our history, a history that has been hidden for centuries. You'll be the first to uncover the secrets, to shed light on the mysteries that have been shrouded in darkness for so long."

I sat opposite Veeranshu, my eyes fixed on his face as I asked, "So, what's next? What do you want to do, mr. Rajput ?"

He leaned back in his chair, a slow smile spreading across his face. "I want you to work for me, Mahira," he said, his voice low and measured.

I raised an eyebrow, my mind racing with possibilities. I was ready to take on the challenge, but one thing bothered me - he was making it sound like I needed him more than he needed me.

"I'm ready," I said, my voice firm. "But I have one condition."

Veeranshu's smile grew wider. "Name it."

"You have to ask me to help you," I said, my eyes locked on his. "Not order me to work under you. We'll work together like business partners, equals. Not a boss and an employee."

Veeranshu's expression changed, a hint of surprise flickering across his face. He never asked anyone for help . She was an exception she always surprised him. But then, he nodded, his smile returning. "Very well, Mahira. I ask for your help. Will you work with me to uncover the secrets of my past, to shed light on the mysteries that have been hidden for so long?"

I nodded, a sense of excitement building in my chest. "I'll work with you, Mr. Rajput . Together, we'll uncover the truth."

"Alright, we can start tomorrow," I said, standing up from my chair.

Veeranshu nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "I'll have my assistant send over the necessary documents and information. We can begin our investigation into the past."

I nodded, turning to leave. "I have to go now. I have somewhere else to be."

Veeranshu's eyes flickered with curiosity, and for a moment, I thought he would ask where or with whom. But he didn't, and I appreciated his restraint. He didn't want to show that he was too interested in my personal matters, and I respected that.

"Very well, Mahira," he said, his voice neutral. "I'll see you tomorrow, then."

I nodded, and with a brief smile, I turned and left his office, leaving him to his thoughts. Little did I know, our investigation into his past would uncover secrets that would change everything.

I was about to enter the lift when I saw Veeranshu walking towards me, his long strides eating up the distance. I raised an eyebrow, questioning his sudden appearance.

"Going down?" I asked, my voice was neutral.

Veeranshu nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Yes, I have something important to attend to on the ground floor."

I narrowed my eyes, sensing a lie. But I didn't press the issue, and instead, stepped into the lift beside him.

As the doors closed, I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest. Why was Veeranshu accompanying me to the ground floor? And why did I feel like he was hiding something?

Little did I know, Veeranshu was asking himself the same questions. He didn't know why he felt compelled to see me off, why he wanted to make sure I was safe. All he knew was that he couldn't shake off the feeling that he needed to be near me, even if it was just for a few more minutes.

The lift descended in silence, the tension between us palpable. I could feel Veeranshu's eyes on me, but I refused to meet his gaze. I didn't want to acknowledge the strange connection that was growing between us, a connection that I couldn't explain or understand.

As the doors opened on the ground floor, Veeranshu stepped out beside me, his eyes scanning the lobby.

Veeranshu insisted on walking with me to my car, making a lame excuse about needing some fresh air. I raised an eyebrow but didn't argue, sensing a stubbornness in him that I couldn't quite explain.

As we approached my car, I was about to get in when suddenly, my car glass shattered. I let out a startled yelp, my heart racing. It was a gunshot.

Veeranshu's expression turned fierce, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. "Check it out!" he barked at his guards, his voice commanding and dominant.

They sprang into action, surrounding us in a protective circle. Veeranshu turned to me, his eyes piercing. "Are you okay, Mahira?"

I nodded, still in shock. "Y-yes, I'm fine."

Veeranshu's gaze narrowed, his jaw clenched. "Get her out of here, now," he ordered his guards, his voice brooking no argument.

Without hesitation, they ushered me into a sleek black SUV, Veeranshu following close behind. As we sped away from the scene, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards him. He had taken charge, protecting me with a fierce intensity that left me breathless.

But why? Why was he so invested in my safety? And what did he know about the gunshot that I didn't? The questions swirled in my mind, but I knew one thing for sure - I was in this with Veeranshu now, whether I liked it or not.
