So we just found out in our Discord community that, should your story be taken down by WP’s lovely rogue AI and you somehow get it back after appealing for ages (good luck with that), it… doesn’t return votes and comments. Nothing. Boom, gone.
          
          Since WP’s recent updates to their Content Guidelines have been everything but transparent in their wording, the Wattys category “Ongoing” is obviously aiming for endless serials without real artistic value, and even Originals and Paid Stories are in danger of being taken down (some have already been hit), WP is further digging their grave by removing every avenue of communication that protects your privacy…
          
          I see no point in lingering here any longer tbh. Any further updates will go to Kerning and Inkitt.

Hello fellow moonwalkers, so as to not confuse anyone: Moonborn has a new cover now!
          
          I wanted to back away from any AI-generated contents since I do want to make money off my writing one day (even if it's only some pocket change). Since AI programs aren't fair use, their generated images are obviously not an option (not to mention the moral implications of images being used without consent - give me a subscription model with artists' consent and I will eat from out of your hand).
          
          I will work on removing/exchanging other images as well, but for now this needs to do. I wonder when I will have a week again where I am NOT busy each day. I actually procrastinated work on my presentation with this silly cover. ;-;
          
          Updates to the actual *book* (as in, chapters) will follow whenever basically ha ha. Freetime is in short supply over here.

Hellooo moonwalkers, a short note for everyone: I am now also on Kerning, a new and author-focused writing platform that has been in development for quite some time (so recent WP shenanigans had no impact on that front)!
          
          The site is currently focused on the essentials and launched only on May 1; so while some quality-of-life features are waiting for their release, everyone has a chance to take a gander and provide input and wishes for the team to gauge what’s most important for authors. I for one am excited to see where this goes.

          Usually this’d been a Moonborn update day, but again a 60h-week took over and so all I can do after work is read something and sleep. I also may have underestimated the editing work for the coming chapter by. A lot. Hah.
          
          It does involve the inciting incident (or rather a decision building up to it) though, so I am excited to share it once I get around to it! Prepare for Sinaru showing some backbone for once. This will totally not bite him in the a$$ later.

          as promised, Moonborn’s volume 1, Forgiven, has officially launched today! Now for those who might still be nursing the wound of not making this ONC round, treat yourself and maybe. Don’t read that one tonight. I mean it, look for something uplifting. Sinaru is not that. :'D
          
          For those who are looking forward to some darker reading, for diving into another broken psyche slowly on the mend, prepare your favorite beverage and have fun dissecting Sinaru. I am looking forward to your comments, especially at the end.

Quick update: I’m withdrawing from the ONC.
          
          I wanted some new inspiration and maybe prove to myself that I can write to a deadline. But I have already written to a deadline, several times, so there is nothing to prove and I am silly, and the inspiration that did strike me for The magurgenvalentalonelove Box is moving the story in a direction that demands more time from me to develop the character arc than the ONC deadlines allow in my already busy life.
          
          Tldr; The magurgenvalentalonelove Box will continue as a standalone upper middle grade novella (so look forward to family angst and healing!), while I can also focus on my big fantasy project Moonborn, where a brother-sister quarrel between Sun and Moon forces our mortal MCs to do the impossible and unite several people who hate each other. This will be fun.

Congratulations all ONC Amb picks and round winners!!! I remember how elated I felt when my 2021 entry got Amb picked, it can be such an ego boost. :D
          
          Kinda regret how I never continued that back then and started a whole new account, but it is what it is. I am glad to see you all flourish and feel privileged to have found the Rainbow Bookclub community, which has quickly become a home for me. <3

          Has it been two weeks already since the last update? I barely have a concept of time currently because half the team at my workplace was sick and I took over a few extra shifts. There’s lots of appointments on top of that, too, and I basically fall asleep at 8pm. So… The (magurgentvalentalonelove) Box will need some time before the next update.
          
          The good news is, I’m on leave the last week of March, so some furious writing could happen there. :D
          
          I wish all other ONC folks happy writing until then and that you’ll all meet the deadline!

          I finally managed to write to the ONC deadline and finish chapter 1 as well as hit the goal of roughly over 2k words. Chapter 1 is full of little pointers towards Luisa's development already, though I figure my little cat narrator might overshadow those a little bit with her... radiance. Let's leave it at that, or I might say something she wouldn't like.
          
          Now, the cat is out of the box, so to speak. Let the fun begin. :3
