A PROMISE

Chapter 1

Shreya's Pov

Shreya! get ready. we just have 1 hr to prepare everything. And I don't want to see any disturbance today. They are  a very powerful family and your marriage is fixed with the eldest son  a woman's voice could be heard. 

But chachi you didn't even ask me if I wanted to marry or not. I want to study further I shouted feeling a heaviness in my heart. 

I don't care about it, if you want to study further do it after your marriage chachi shouted back angrily. I could not believe this was happening with me. 

I just hope its a dream I muttered to myself. Di if you dont want to marry you can run away tara my younger sister suggested.

Then what about me. Where will I go. I don't even have any money. It is good I will get married in a affluent family and won't have any problem there. If I run away my fate will go to you and I cannot let it happen. I also suffered in this hell and more than  you. No I won't let it happen, I'll marry him I thought.

Bachaa don't worry I'll marry him. You don't have to think about these stupid things like running away I told her.

But why di? As much I know you don't want to marry anyone tara inquired.

See bachaa even if  i run away where will I go and even if I cancel the marriage chachi will never let me study further. I am thinking about the chances of mine to study after marriage. The family is rich. That's why I am thinking I will be good there I explained her telling all the possibilities to her.

I know you are my only family after mom and dad but this world is cruel and if I let you take my fate of getting married in that family I will have to suffer for very long time. And what are the chances you'll help me. I am sorry I have to take this step I thought hugging her back.

Get ready, You are getting married in an hour. Here is all the stuff you need to wear and make sure you wear it all. It's from groom's family. And about running away from wedding tara, If she runs away both of you will suffer Chachi while entering the room said in a dominating voice.

Auther's Pov

Both the bride and groom are sitting in the mandap(wedding pavilion), performing the rituals while the pandit is chanting some chants.

Now you both may stand and take 7 pheres the priest announced.

Shadi sampann huyi (the wedding rituals are done). Aaj se aap dono pati patni hai (from today you are husband and wife). Apne se badon ka aashirwad le (take blessings from the elders) the priest announced.

After taking blessings from their elders. They all gathered for vidai (a ritual where girl is sent of by her family to a new family).

They all sat in their respective cars and left for home.

Samarth's Pov

I saw her expressions and she did not look too sad to leave her family I thought but was interrupted by her chuckling sound and glanced at her who was looking at the mesmerizing mansion of ours. A smile made its way while looking at her.
She is beautiful and innocent. She is perfect to be my wife I thought.

Author's Pov

Shreya was mesmerized by the beauty of mansion while Samarth was mesmerized by her beauty.

Shreya looked at him with a questioning gaze when she found him looking at her.

He understood her confusion and told her it's nothing.

They both entered the mansion.
Beta with your right leg kick the kalash and the step into the plate with kumkum and walk ahead the eldest female of the family ordered.
Shreya did as she was told to do.

After all the rituals were finished the couple assended to their room.

Umm.. You sleep in bed I'll take that couch and the bathroom is that way go and change into something comfortable Samarth told to make her comfortable.
Ji Shreya replied and made her way to the bathroom taking her cute flower tshirt and pyjama set.

She woke up early for her pehli rasoi ritual and after getting dressed made her way to the kitchen downstairs.

Shreya's Pov
As I entered the kitchen I spotted maa and both choti maa.
I bent down and touched their feet for blessings.
It's good you came. Today is your pehli rasoi. Don't worry you just need to make some sweets. Workers will handle the other things Vidhya maa said.
I decided to make Halwa, Puri, Chocolate shakes, Shahi Paneer and some paranthas after asking maa about the family memers like and dislikes .

I made the breakfast and started serving everyone. Eventhough the food was not so good. It was okay but everyone was appreciating me. At our home Tara used to do all the chores while I used to study.

Wow bhabhi your hands have magic in them Sameer Bhai said over exaggerating the fact making every one giggle at his silly comment.

But all the laughter and giggles turned into silence as Rudra descended the stairs.
He sat down on the chair and I was going to serve him but got stopped abruptly by maa and samarth ji. I was confused but did not have courage to ask the reason. Within 2 min a female worker came with his breakfast. He silently ate his breakfast and left for office.
Others also finished their breakfast the males went to their respective offices while maa, choti maas and I sat down to have breakfast. After that workers cleaned the table and did other works.
Maa why you did not let me serve Rudra I enquired.
With my question everyone's face turned pale.
Shreya look, Rudra has a very bad past due to which he doesn't like any of us and doesn't trust us. He lives here due to a promise maa said as choti maas face paled.
Maa I wanted to ask you if I could study further. I want to complete my studies I asked in a low voice.
