Perfect Fit

I scheduled to interview Killian today and invited him to one of the resto cafés near Taft para malapit lang sa kanya. Thankfully, our schedules aligned since he had no classes and mine ended early.

I got here earlier than him. Nakakahiya naman kung siya ang mauuna sa amin. I'd want to order ahead of time but I'm unsure of his food preference. Maybe he likes pasta? Since that's what he ordered last time.

In the end, I informed the waiter that I'd decide on our orders later.

Shortly after, the jingle of the door caught my attention as it swung open. It didn't take long for me to recognize him as he walked in.

"Sorry, I'm a bit late," he said, running a hand through his slightly damp hair. A faint hint of his manly scent greeted me as he took his seat in front of me.

"No, it's okay! It's just a few minutes." I smiled reassuringly at him. "I haven't ordered anything yet. Kumain ka na ba?"

Umiling ito. "I came here straight from the gym."

Ah, kaya pala medyo basa pa ang buhok niya.

I signaled the waiter to come. "May I take your order po, Ma'am, Sir?"

"Uhm...one pan-seared fish filet, a large iced mocha, and..." I glanced at Killian, hinting to decide on his order.

"Seafood pesto."

"And a seafood pesto," I repeated his words.

"Okay, po. Your food will be ready to serve in about 10-15 minutes." Naglakad ito pabalik sa counter.

I took out my laptop and placed it on the table. Sakto lang ang espasyo ng lamesa para sa laptop ko at pagkain namin.

"So let's start?" I readied my notes and the interview questions.

"Would you mind if I record our conversation?" I asked before opening the voice recording app.

"No, go ahead." He simply shrugged.

"Please introduce yourself. State your name, age, college program and the school you attend," sabi ko at handa nang tumipa sa laptop.

"Killian Raiden Sevilla, 21, 3rd year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in International Business from De La Salle University, Manila." Pagpapakilala nito.

"Alright, Mr. Sevilla. I'll be asking you some questions regarding your program. I trust you'll respond with complete openness."

It seems like we'll be done sooner than we thought.

"What made you pursue BSBA as your college program?"

"BSBA was my clear choice. Deciding to pursue this degree was a natural fit for my aspirations as it provides a solid foundation for my future business success." Agad niyang sagot.

I nodded in agreement. "Can you share any challenging experiences you have faced in pursuing this degree?

"Certainly, managing my time between classes and doing a real-world business internship for my father's business has been challenging."

And here I thought this man has all the time in the world. Hindi halatang busy siyang tao.

"So what are your plans after finishing your program?"

"Well, I hope to secure a position in a company where I can apply my skills and knowledge gained from my degree to contribute positively to the organization's success."

He seemed well-prepared with his answers. Mukhang handa talaga siya sa mga ito. Naisip ko tuloy na mag dagdag pa ng itatanong.

"You mentioned your goal of securing a position within a company. "Have you considered starting your own business?" I asked, noticing his reaction as if he realized it wasn't among the questions I had sent, yet he seemed prepared to address it.
