Chapter 33- Oh Hello There

Faith's POV
the moment he announced that, everyone in the kitchen stopped doing whatever they were doing

They all turned their eyes to us and i could sense their excitement/ confusion and concern

I don't think it'll be hard to guess who was what

Andrew was excited of course, Luciano was confused and Rose was concerned?

Rose looked at me and that look was clear. We needed to talk.

As soon as we got the moment, we slipped away from the kitchen and into the hallway

"Faith" she spoke to me

"Are you sure?" Was all she asked. Her voice was full of concern for me

"Yes Rose, i love him" i told her, placing my hand on top of hers, giving it a gentle squeeze

"I don't know Faith, these men are mafia. You never know what happens next" she said scared. For a second, i let that thought carry me away

"I had seen the way Lorenzo was yesterday Rose and only if you had seen it. Yes he's dangerous but aren't we all in some way? The only difference is that he doesn't care if he is dangerous" i said to her and she nodded

It was making sense

"He was vulnerable yesterday Rose, his eyes showed so much fear that for a second, i forgot i was the one who was about to die" i said to her and she blinked, almost not believing me

"We're still talking about Lorenzo?" She said and i let out a small laugh

"You don't believe it? Me too. I didn't believe that he was capable of being that vulnerable until i saw him yesterday" i said to her and she sighed

"That's true, I've seen the way he looks at you" she said smiling a little

"I just want you to be happy" she said pulling me in a hug and i could feel her tense shoulders

I hugged her back until she relaxed in my embrace and then we pulled away

"Well then, i have to tell you something too" she said and I think i already knew what she was about to say

"Andrew asked me out" she said almost whispering but i couldn't keep my calm

I screamed so loud that she placed a hand on my mouth to stop me

"Oh my god" i said to her as we both smiled uncontrollably

"TELL ME YOU AGREED??" I asked her and she nodded, looking away

"ROSEE" i said as i pulled her in another hug

I finally started believing that things were getting better

Later Rose and Andrew went out while Luciano returned to his room

"Let's go" Lorenzo said holding my hand and leading me to his study

As i sat across him, i looked at him in admiration

He looked so damn attractive when he was working

Especially with those reading glasses

"You're making me nervous" he spoke glancing up and i blinked

"Huh" i said to him and he removed his glasses

He got up and came to my side of the table, leaning over my chair

"Your gaze makes me nervous sometimes" he said softly, his body hovering over the chair

"Isn't that a good thing?" I asked innocently and he smirked bringing his face closer than ever

"With you? Yes" he said in a deep voice and i felt shivers down my spine

"Listen i need to ask something" i said to him and he pulled away, sitting in front of me

"Can i go back to work? I really miss working" i said to him and he considered my words

"Yes" he said after a moment and i couldn't believe it

"I wouldn't want to stop you from doing something you love. I know you want to save lives" he said softly and I couldn't contain my excitement

In a moment, i got up from my seat and jumped onto him

I kissed him passionately and he giggled, holding me in his arms

I pulled back to look at him, his eyes held that soft gaze and it made me feel butterflies

"You just have to promise to be safe" he said after a moment as he intertwined his fingers with mine

"I promise you" i said to him and he held me close, resting his chin on top of my head

We stayed like that for a moment until i got back to my room to call the hospital and fill in my return

The day passed by quickly and I didn't notice when it was night

"Hey" Lorenzo said coming into my room and I glanced up from my phone

"You good?" He asked me and i nodded

"Oh no, is it that late?" I said looking at the time and he smiled

I quickly got up and walked to him

He held my hand and we went to his room

We slipped beneath the covers and he wrapped an arm around my waist, pressing my back against his chest

"I'll get your stuff shifted to my room tomorrow" he said and i nodded, sleep taking over me

The next morning i woke up to an empty bed yet again

He gets up so freaking early

I quickly went to the bathroom to take a shower and do my morning routine

I returned back to the room wearing the bathrobe and opened my phone to answer any calls/ texts

"Morning" Lorenzo said placing his arms around me kissing my neck softly

I turned around to meet his eyes and smiled

He gently kissed my forehead and smiled

"First day huh" he said and I couldn't control my excitement

"Just be safe" he said and i nodded, changing into my clothes

As i grabbed my stuff, I couldn't help but remember the last time i was getting ready to go to work

So much had changed from that time and i didn't think it would get normal

But it did

I made my way to the kitchen and saw everyone there

After we were done with our breakfast, me and Rose got up to get to work while Andrew and Lorenzo repeatedly warned us to be safe and text them

"Gosh you guys" i said as i pulled Rose away from Andrew's embrace

"We're gonna be late" i said to her and she laughed

"Lets go" i said and we walked out of the kitchen and out of the main door

I said my goodbyes to Rose and sat in my car

The ride to the hospital was short and unproblematic- thankfully

I got to the hospital just in time to see a patient being dragged on the stretcher

"DR FAITH" the nurse yelled my name and i rushed to them

I quickly got changed in the coat and gloves as they got ready for the treatment

I walked into the room to find everyone else waiting for me

"Patient's a 27 year old man. Cole Ricci. He's been shot on the chest" the nurse said and i froze in my tracks
