when riley entered the locker room, she noticed a 'roommates wanted' sign, meredith was looking for roommates. riley needed a place to stay, she wasn't sure if merediths house was the right place.

riley, george and izzie were watching meredith talking to some other interns, she was 'interviewing' them. izzie and george were desperate to move into the house, they didn't know if she would say yes.

"why do you put up posters for roommates if you don't want roommates?" izzie asked meredith

"i do want roommates, we're together a hundred hours a week, you want to live together too?" meredith knew izzie and george wanted to move in, she just didn't want to spend any more time with them.

"you're turning everyone down, you're going to have to say yes to someone." riley told meredith, she just looked at riley and shook her head.

"no. ooh, you're bringing bribes now" cristina said, noticing the coffee meredith was holding, she was going to give it to dr bailey.

"i need a place to live. my mom irons my scrubs. i have to get out of there." george said.

"it's not a bribe, i don't think it's a good idea." meredith said

"but i can put down last, first and deposit." george argued.

"it's a total bribe."

"i can cook. and i'm an obsessive cleaner." izzie said.

"no. i just want two total strangers who i don't have to talk to, or be nice to, and it's not a bribe, it's a mocha latte." meredith said.

"george, you're running the code team, meredith, take the trauma patients, cristina, deliver the weekend labs to the patients, izzie, you're on sutures." bailey told her interns, riley just stared at her, not knowing what to do. "and riley you can come with me."

"dr bailey. i was hoping to assist you in the OR today, maybe do a minor procedure? i think i'm ready. mocha latte?" meredith offered bailey the coffee.

the rest of the interns also wanted into the OR, which was making bailey mad, "stop talking. every intern wants to perform their first surgery, that's not your job. do you know what your job is? to make your resident happy. do I look happy? no. why? because my interns are whining. you know what will make me look happy? having the code team staffed, having the trauma patients answered, having the weekend labs delivered, and having someone down in the pit, doing the sutures, having an intern helping me." she took the coffee from meredith, "no one holds a scalpel until i'm so happy i'm mary freakin' poppins."

"mocha latte my ass." cristina said.

the 5 interns were standing in front of bailey, doing nothing, "why're y'all standing there? move!" they all run off, riley stays with dr bailey.

"where are we going?" riley asked bailey, "we're going around some patients rooms, i have nothing else for you to do today." bailey said

they went to four different patients rooms, just checking to make sure they were okay, "what should i do now?" riley asked, "again, i have nothing for you, sloan. go with shepherd and grey, they're in the pit." riley nodded and walked off.
